“Honor God with everything you own; give him the first and the best.”  Proverbs 3:9  

God is extravagantly generous!  “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all — how will he not also…graciously give us all things?”  Romans 8:32  As followers of Jesus, we are called to reflect His generosity in all of life.  We will never be Christ-like until we learn to be generous. 

God designed us to have joy in living generously.  Unfortunately, God’s original design has been corrupted.  In a fallen world, there is no issue that is more challenging or in need of God’s transforming power, than the issue of how we handle money.

The Bible offers much wisdom concerning money.  There are more than 2,350 verses that deal with God’s design for our financial fitness.  When we honor God’s design, the Bible says that “we are like a tree, firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season…in whatever we do, we prosper.”  Psalm 1:3
