Special Project awaiting funding

SPECIAL PROJECTS AWAITING FUNDING

Thank you for your interest in giving a special offering, over and above your faithful giving to help fund special one-time projects and purchases we are not able to fund from our weekly offerings.

Our church's congregationally approved annual operating budget covers normal and routine expenses for all our ministries based on the expected offerings given by our church family. But beyond these reoccurring annual items, there are special projects and purchases we would like to accomplish as the Lord provides through excess offerings or designated gifts that are given "over and above" people's normal tithes and/or offerings.

If you are interested in helping provide special funding for any of these designated items, please include a note with your check about what you would like to help fund. You can put this in the Sunday offering or mail to the church office. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your donation before making a final decision about your gift, please call the church office (816-380-2422) and we will direct you to the correct person to talk with about any of the items listed below.

Worship Ministries

	(Awaiting funding) Special gift of $400 for worship software.
	(PROJECT ALREADY FUNDED!) Special gift of $2,500 for a video projector for the back wall to assist the singers and the speaker.
	(PROJECT ALREADY FUNDED!) Special gifts of any amount up to $5,000 for purchase of additional 100 pew style sanctuary chairs. This would free up folding chairs for the classrooms and provide more seating for newcomers. $500 has already been designated.

Teaching Media Ministries

	(Awaiting funding) Special gifts up to $1000 that will allow us to purchase a portable video projector. This could be used in many ways – children’s ministry, adult Bible studies, ministry training, etc.
	(Awaiting funding) Special gift of $800 for the purchase of a laptop computer. This would primarily be used in conjunction with the portable video projector.
	(PROJECT ALREADY FUNDED!) Special gift of $400 to allow the purchase of a large television to be put on a video cart with a VCR/DVD player. This could be used in any room needing to utilize teaching videos/DVDs.

Children’s Ministries

	(Awaiting funding) Special gifts of any amount that will go towards the purchase of playground equipment and fencing for a play area. Over $300 has already been given.
	(Awaiting funding) Special gifts of $300 to $600 for the purchase of a locking storage cabinet(s) for education supplies.
	(PROJECT ALREADY FUNDED!) A special gift of up to $400 that will allowed us to purchase special lighting for the puppet stage.

Communications Ministries

((Awaiting funding) Special gift of $1000 for a large flat screen television to be mounted in the commons area so that people there can see what is being projected in the sanctuary.

Pastoral/Counseling Ministries

(Awaiting funding) Special gift of $900 to furnish our pastor’s office with a loveseat, chairs and end table. This would create a more comfortable setting for people needing to meet with the pastor.

Benevolence & Congregational Care Ministry

(Special benevolence offerings are received after the 1st Sunday of the month communion services) Our church has a very active Benevolence and Congregational Care ministry. Last year, under the oversight of the deacons we distributed $5,300 in designated benevolence offerings and donations to help provide loving assistance to individuals and families in transition or crisis with food, house/rent payments, transportation, and medical needs. Gifts of any size are always welcome and can be sent in by mail or put in the monthly benevolence offering collected at the end of the service the first Sunday of every month.

Deacon Team

	(Awaiting funding) Special gift of $7,500 to purchase a commercial mower and storage shed. This would eventually save us money by not having to hire a commercial contractor to mow the grounds.
	(Awaiting funding) Special gift of $300 to purchase a folding chair caddy to store and transport folding chairs wherever needed.

Additional Classroom Space

(Awaiting funding) Special gifts of any amount may be specified for educational space. When Cornerstone constructed its new facility, it was done with the future in mind. A master phased plan was drawn up so that we would make the best use of land and facilities as the church continues to grow. We are now at the point of needing additional educational space. Eventually, we plan to build an additional wing which will house children and youth ministries.

Additional Pastoral Staff

(Awaiting funding) Cornerstone is blessed to have many gifted people in our congregation who lead our various ministry teams. However, we realize lay people only have a limited amount of time to give. Eventually, we would like to have associate pastors who can specialize in specific areas, i.e. worship, children, youth, etc.
