Our Ministry Values
|
| |
Strong Biblical Teaching
We are committed to teaching the Word of God in a creative and
Spirit-empowered way throughout our church.
We instruct people how to read, understand,
memorize, and apply the Bible properly.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

| |
Vibrant Worship
We desire our services to have a fresh approach to worship
that is an inspiring experience for those who attend.
We utilize classic elements celebrating our Christian
heritage as well as contemporary
means to effectively touch hearts in our culture today.
Psalm 100

Reaching Out
We strive to influence our local community for Christ
through creative outreach and effective ministry that
responds to needs. Our goal
is to be involved in planting disciple-making churches
locally and throughout the world. Our involvement is
not limited to financial support, but we look forward
to sending mission teams
from our church to impact others for Christ.
Matthew 5:13-16 & Acts 1:8
|
| |
Passionate Prayer
We must be a church that prays passionately acknowledging
our dependence upon God. We recognize the necessity of
prayer to discern God's will, to be led by the Holy Spirit,
and to be empowered to accomplish the Lord's work.
Colossians 4:2
|
| |
Loving Relationships
Cornerstone is a caring family knit together in Christ-like love.
It's a place where people are genuine and gracious with
one another expressing practical acts of compassion.
We also believe in teaching people how to handle interpersonal
conflict in a Biblical manner. Small groups provide a setting for support,
encouragement, and accountability in our Christian walk.
John 13:34-35 & Acts 2:42-46
|
| |
Enabling Leadership
We believe one of the most important tasks of the church
is to equip, support, motivate and mentor individuals to
become all that God wants them to be, thus distributing
servant leadership among the body of believers.
We are a church which develops it ministries around
the giftedness and interests of those God puts in this body.
At Cornerstone, every member is a minister!
Ephesians 4:11-13
|
| |
Integrity in Ourselves
We are committed to the highest standards of Biblical integrity
for our leadership and members. Good character
is the result of an intimate walk with the Master, Jesus Christ.
We believe a good shepherd leads with integrity, skill,
and a servant's attitude which is an example to others.
The members of God's local church are to follow with the same example.
Psalm 78:72 & Titus 2:7-8
|
| |
Sensitivity to Guests
We are dedicated to the practice of hospitality,
warmly welcoming guests and seeking to connect them to
the church family. The Scriptures reveal a God who is
reaching out to those people who do not yet know Him.
We strive to reflect the Lord's sensitivity by being
mindful of those unchurched guests who attend our activities.
We strive to make Cornerstone a place where those without a
church background will be taught
God's Word in a clear and understandable fashion.
Luke 19:10 & Matt. 9:9-13
|
| |
Flexible Methods
While we are irrevocably committed to the timeless
authority of God's inerrant Word and its unchanging
message, we are also highly committed to being culturally
relevant in our methodology. We believe in keeping
our methods fluid, innovative and pragmatic
based on the needs of an ever-changing culture.
We will learn from our mistakes and seek to get 'better and better'.
Matthew 9:16-17
|
| |
Generosity
We seek to be generous to God and others with our time,
our talents, and our finances. God,
who is most generous with us, is pleased when
we trust Him with all our resources
recognizing that they come from Him.
1 Corinthians 4:7 |
