Special Announcements

THANK YOU!!:   The Barnett family would like to thank the church body for the kind support they received during Suzanne’s recent hospital stay.  They consider it a blessing to be a part of this church family, and are very grateful for all of you.

A FEAST FOR THE MINDIntroduction to Theology is a class that gives you skills for developing a Biblical worldview and constructing a solid foundation for thinking through life’s most important issues.  Randy Henry is going to be leading this new small group which will meet in his home beginning the week of April 12th.  The day of the week will be determined by those who are interested in this 10-week class/group.  If you would like to participate, please call him at 887-0267.

CELEBRATE PERSONAL RECOVERY:   A new small group led by Greg and Karen Miller entitled Celebrate Personal Recovery (CPR) seeks to help people deal with the present by resolving conflicts from the past.  It will help people experience freedom in Christ so they can move on to maturity and fruitfulness in their walk with Him.  This group will meet at the church from 6:30-7:30 on Thursdays beginning April 9.

BABY DEDICATION:  On Mother’s Day, which is May 10, we will be having a baby dedication during the morning service.  This is a beautiful opportunity for parents and the church body to commit together to the spiritual upbringing of the new little ones.  If you are interested, please call the church office at 380-2422.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SUPPORT THE FOOD PANTRY: March is Cornerstone’s month to gather food donations for the Harrisonville Ministerial Alliance’s food pantry.   There will be a box in the foyer labeled “Food Pantry” in which to place your donations.  We will take your food items through this Sunday, March 29.   We are also going to start supporting the pantry by helping to staff the store on Fridays when it is open to distribute food to the community.  Starting on June 5th and every 9 weeks thereafter, we would like to provide 4 people from Cornerstone to work at the store from 1:30-5:00 pm.  It is fine to come for only a part of the time if that is what your schedule permits.  If you can help, please call Doris Friesen at 808-2929.

SPRING CLEAN-UP AND MAINTENANCE DAY:  This Saturday, March 28, at 12:00 noon we will be gathering to give the church a sprucing up just in time for Easter. Bring work gloves and tools, or just show up and we will put you to work!  What a great way to serve and at the same time get to know your brothers and sisters in the body.  If anyone sees a need for repairs, please let one of the deacons know and we will add it to our list.

POT LUCK AND CELEBRATIONThis Sunday, March 29, we’ll be having a pot luck meal after the service, followed by our quarterly Celebration of Life (formerly called business meeting).  Don’t miss this chance to be together as a family and hear about what God is doing in our midst.  Fried chicken will be provided, and we ask that each family bring two side dishes (potato, vegetable, salad, or dessert) to share.
