There is a popular phrase heard on TV, “Welcome home Smith family.  Welcome home.”  Ty uses this phrase on the show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” to welcome a family back from a vacation to their totally new home.  With a little different twist on the phrase “welcome home” we start our new summer series today, “My Heart, Christ’s Home.”  It’s our opportunity to invite Jesus into our homes (lives) to do a makeover.  It will take The Creative Team-the Father’s creative plan to make us like the Son in the power of the Holy Spirit as we cooperate with Them to be the home God wants us to be.  We need Jesus to do the makeover in each and every room of our house, from the living room to the workshop, from the storm cellar to the bedroom.  So,  we will take a look at different rooms of our lives. 

Today, we start with the living room, the place where intimacy begins in our walk with Jesus.  He’s got the coffee or juice ready, the pancakes are hot, the syrup’s our favorite (He knows what we like), and the atmosphere’s both warm and inviting.  He’s made His schedule open just for us to sit down, enjoy His presence, and commune together.  This room is all about relationship–personal, intimate, special.  Are we ready to find true intimacy with Him?  Let’s take a look at our living room.
