Special Announcements
SUNDAY MORNING CLASS BREAK: Don’t forget that there will be no Sunday morning Children’s Sunday School or Adult Bible Study classes this week. Classes will resume on September 13.
MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP: The Middle School Youth Group for students in the 6th through 8th grades will meet every other Sunday night starting September 13 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Jake and Paula Kohl’s house. They live at 803 Oakwood Lane here in Harrisonville. Bring your Bible!!
MEN’S BREAKFAST: The men’s breakfast in September will be on the second Saturday, September 12, at 7:00 a.m., since the first Saturday falls on Labor Day weekend.
BAPTISM SERVICE: There will be a baptism service on Sunday, September 27, during the morning worship. If you are interested in being baptized, please contact the church office at 380-2422.
POST-ABORTIVE BIBLE STUDY: Jeannine Eddins will be leading a post-abortive bible study in the near future. If you or someone you know needs help coping with an abortion in their past, contact the church office.
BRIDGE OF HOPE BANQUET: We are all invited to attend the Bridge of Hope Community Church Abundant Harvest Banquet on Saturday, September 12, at 6:00 p.m. at their church, located at 1925 North 11th Street in Kansas City. This banquet helps to raise funds for the annual mortgage on their church building. Pastor Tom Nelson of Christ Community Church is the guest speaker. The suggested dress is semi-formal, and they request that you R.S.V.P. to Suzanne Hutchinson at 785-876-2426. Pastor Luther has also asked for volunteers from our church who would like to help with the serving of the meal. If you are interested, please contact the church office.

Community News
Angel Food Orders: Thursday, September 10 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and Friday, September 11 from 1-6 p.m.
Volunteers Needed: On Saturday, September 19, the Shepherd’s Staff Food Food Pantry will be at the doors of Wal-Mart taking food donations to help stock their shelves. They are asking for volunteers from the Ministerial Alliance Churches to take shifts at the doors during the day. Our time slot is 1-3 p.m. If you would like to help, please contact the church office.
Auction for Life Choice Center: The annual auction to raise money for the Life Choice Center will be at Harrisonville High School Auxiliary Gym on Saturday, September 12 from 4:30-7:00 p.m., with doors opening at 4:00 p.m. The Life Choice Center is also in need of a part-time registered nurse (salaried) and two volunteer receptionists to work on Thursdays. Contact Linda Freeland at 887-5100 if you are interested in either of these positions.
Mobile Food Drop: On Saturday, October 10, at 10:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Peculiar, there will be a food distribution. This will be on a first come, first served basis, and they request that you bring your own bags and boxes.
Hospice Training: Kansas City Hospice and Solace House are looking for compassionate people who would like to volunteer to ease the burdens for those facing serious illness or the loss of a loved one. Solace has a training scheduled in September to prepare their volunteers, and Kansas City Hospice has two trainings being offered in October. There are information sheets on the tables in the Commons about these two opportunities.
