Special Announcements

 

FAMILY FELLOWSHIP NIGHT AT THE HAFFNERS:   Hopefully you have your calendars marked for the Hot Dog Roast on Sunday, October 18.   Here are the details!  It starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Haffners’ home in Pleasant Hill.  Please bring hot dogs and buns for your family, and chairs or blankets to sit on.  Drinks, paper goods, chips, hot dog toppings, and S’more ingredients (yum!) will be provided.  To get to the Haffners’, just take Hwy 7 north towards Pleasant Hill, and watch on your left for Pumpkins and Pines.

 

MISSING DVDS:  Bryan Gilbert is trying to locate a DVD series called Love and Respect, which has been misplaced.  If you know where it is, please contact Bryan at 380-5971.

 

TWO CORNERSTONE WEDDINGS!

 Bryan and Martha Gilbert would like to invite the church family to the marriage of their daughter, Christa, to Eduardo Garcia on November 7th at 4:00 p.m. here at Cornerstone.  If you are planning to attend, please R.S.V.P to Christa at christagilbert10@gmail.com

Community News

 

Coat Collection:  Beth Zans is gathering coats, hats, and gloves to take to a clothing drive at Central Methodist Church in downtown Kansas City, KS, where they will be distributed to the needy on Saturday, October 24.   If you have any of these items you could donate, please bring them to the church by October 22, so Beth can get them to the drive on time.

 

Angel Food Order DatesThursday, October 8 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and Friday, October 9,

from 1-6 p.m. 

 

Used Book Sale:  On Saturday, October 24, 2009, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., First Christian Church will be holding the 3rd Annual Used Book Sale to benefit the Shepherd’s Staff Food Pantry.  They are accepting donations of books, videos, cassettes, records, CD’s, DVD’s, popular magazines, and printed music.  Please do not bring encyclopedias, text books, National Geographic magazines, Reader’s Digest condensed books, or personally recorded materials.  For questions or to volunteer, contact Jo Irwin 380-1050, or email Jirwin413@aol.com.
