Special Announcements
ORDINATION OF JOE CHENOWETH: This Sunday, November 15th, we will be having a very special worship service. We will be ordaining Joe Chenoweth to be our Associate Pastor of Ministry Development. There will also be a reception following the service where we will have the opportunity to personally offer Joe our support and encouragement as he steps into this ministry.
BRAD MULLETT VISIT: One of the missionaries Cornerstone supports is Brad Mullett and his family, who are serving with the Evangelical Free Church in Hungary. Brad will be here this Sunday to share with us during the worship service about his ministry.
CELEBRATE!
This week’s topic is the spiritual practice of Service. As maturing followers of Christ, we serve Him by serving others either in or out of Cornerstone Church. As you have served God, how have you seen that impact your life or how has He used you in a surprising or gratifying way?
LADIES, IT’S BUNCO TIME!
Friday, November 20th is the date of this month’s Bunco Party at Juanita Blackwell’s home. The party starts at 7:00 p.m. There are flyers on the desk in the church office with all the details and with directions to Juanita’s house. All women are welcome, and this is a great place to bring a friend or recent visitor to the church. If you are planning to come, please R.S.V.P. to Juanita by Wednesday, November 18th, at 779-4299 or blackwellj@harrisonville.k12.mo.us.
CORNERSTONE CONNECT:
If you are a newcomer to Cornerstone, we invite you to take a closer look at our church by attending “Cornerstone Connect” next Sunday, November 22nd, at 9:30 a.m. (during the Bible class time.) This is a chance for you to learn more about Cornerstone’s vision and values, and also about the opportunities available to you here at the church. The group will meet in Pastor Tom’s office, and a light breakfast will be provided. Hope to see you there!
THANKSGIVING DINNER: We will be having a Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner on Sunday, November 22nd, right after the morning worship service. Please bring two side dishes to go with the turkey and rolls that will be provided.
CHRISTMAS CAROLING: Mark your calendars for Sunday evening, December 13th, when we will be having a family Christmas Caroling party. We will carol in a nearby neighborhood, and then come back to the church for desserts and hot chocolate. More details will be coming soon, but we wanted to get this date on your calendars before the holiday season filled them up!

Word for the Week
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with
gratitude in your hearts to God.”
Ephesians 2:8,9
Quotes to Ponder
“Jesus said, ‘Whoever has My commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves Me.’ (John 14:21) Obedience is the pathway to holiness, but it is only as we have His commands that we can obey them. God’s Word must be so strongly fixed in our minds that it becomes the dominant influence in our thoughts, our attitudes, and our actions.”
Jerry Bridges, The Pursuit of Holiness
Church bloopers
“The church will host an evening of fine dining, super entertainment, and gracious hostility.”
“Eight new choir robes are currently needed due to the addition of several new members and to the deterioration of some older ones.”
“Irving Benson and Jessie Carter were married on October 24 in the church. So ends a friendship that begin in their school days.”
