Special Announcements
CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE: There will be a Christmas Eve service from 6-7 p.m. here at the church. Bring your whole family for this special time to celebrate our Savior’s birth.
COMMUNION THIS SUNDAY: During the worship service this Sunday, we will be celebrating the Lord’s supper. Following the service, deacons will be at the doors of the worship center to take a love offering, which will used to help those in our body who have financial needs.
BAPTISM SERVICE: On January 10th, we will be having a baptism service during the morning worship. If you are interested in being baptized, please contact the church office at 380-2422.
CELEBRATE: As we prepare our hearts for communion this Sunday and anticipate the baptism service in January, it is a good opportunity to celebrate the spiritual practice of Practicing the Ordinances. The “ordinances” are these acts of believer’s baptism and the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. As maturing followers of Christ, we regularly celebrate the Lord’s supper and baptism to remember, honor, and worship Him for His work in our lives. Has there been a particularly meaningful baptism or Lord’s Supper experience that you would like to share? Yours or another’s?
CHRISTMAS BUNCO PARTY: This Friday night, December 18th, at 7:00 p.m., is the Christmas Bunco Party at Juanita Blackwell’s. If you can, please bring $2, a 2-liter bottle of pop or a snack, and a wrapped gift costing $5 or less. If you can’t bring anything this time, come anyway! There is always extra of everything. It would help Juanita if you could R.S.V.P. to her at 779-4299 or blackwellj@harrisonville.k12.mo.us.
MIDDLE SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PARTY: The Middle School Youth Group will be having a Christmas Party at the Schneebergers’ home this Sunday, December 20th , at 6 p.m. Please bring a white elephant gift and a snack to share.
WOMEN’S RETREAT! Ladies, it’s our turn to get away! Put February 26th – 27th on your calendars for the Cornerstone Women’s Retreat, and be watching for more details after the holidays.
BULLETIN GREETERS: Cornerstone Church is in need of bulletin greeters. This is an uncomplicated responsibility and a great way of meeting people in the church. Bulletin greeters typically serve once every 2 months. Families are more than welcome. Anyone interested in serving as a bulletin greeter should contact Jay Hicks at 258-4331 or jhicks53@msn.com.
CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER NEEDED: We are in need of a teacher for the third – fifth grade Sunday school class. If you are interested in hearing more about what this would involve, please call the church office at 380-2422.
