Special Announcements

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER:   Tomorrow (Thursday) is the National Day of Prayer for our country.   There are still some slots available in our “prayer chain”, so if you have 15 minutes on Thursday that you could give to praying for our nation, you may still call the church office to sign up (or, of course, you can pray whenever it is convenient for you.)   There are also a number of community-wide events which are listed below:

National Day of Prayer

Thursday, May 6th

Schedule of Events

Prayer Vigil – 3:15am to 5:59pm – First Baptist Church

Lets come together and create a constant line of communication from Harrisonville Missouri directly to the Lord God Almighty!  Sign up at your local church or by calling 380-3733.

Prayer Walk – 7:00am – First Baptist Church

Two walks will be offered this year.  Choose either:

a leisurely 30-minute walk around the square of Harrisonville

a moderate paced 60 minute-walk expanding past the Harrisonville square

Parents Prayer Time – 1:00pm to 3:00pm – First Baptist Church

Do you have small children at home?  Do you feel like you never get a chance to just sit and talk with God?  Well this is your chance.  Our nursery will be open to provide FREE child care while you sit in our quiet, peaceful sanctuary.  Take this opportunity to commune with the Father who loves you so much.  Whether your time is filled with tears, laughter, praise, or even a wrestling match, you’ll enjoy the company – and so will Immanuel.

Prayer Meeting – 7:00pm – First Baptist Church

We will conclude our day by Praising and Worshiping The Lord through Prayer.  He hears us whenwe call to Him.  Come and spent time praying and praising Him for all the blessing He pours out.

NEED A MOTHER’S DAY GIFT?  Purchase a Cornerstone cookbook filled with great recipes from our own chefs!  Pick one up for only $5.00 at the table in the foyer at the church.  Proceeds will help our teens attend the Challenge conference.

CORNERSTONE SHIRTS ON SALE NOW:  Place your order for the new Cornerstone shirts!  There is a table set up at the church with all the details.  A portion of the proceeds will go to help our youth get to Challenge.  Note:  There is a limited number of the old-style shirts available at a discount – get yours while they last!

WALK FOR LIFE:   Saturday, May 22nd is the annual Walk for Life to support the Life Choice Center for Women.   A number of the middle school girls are participating in the walk, so if you would like to make a pledge to support the Life Choice Center, you may contact one of them, or talk with Kelly Schneeberger or Suzanne Barnett and they can help direct you to one of the girls.

ATTENTION ALL MEN!   On May 14-15th, there will be a Men’s Campout at Pomme de Terre Lake. For more information, contact Stan Belk at 380-7423 or houseofbelk@embarqmail.com.

for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

Hebrews 1:3

                       Quotes to Ponder

“I have read in Plato and Cicero sayings that are very wise and very beautiful; but I never read in either of them:  “Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden.”

 ~St Augustine

Interesting Facts

Our eyes are always the same size from birth, but our nose and ears never stop growing.

And, speaking of ears, a cat has 32 muscles in each ear.
