CONGRATULATIONS: This past weekend, Cameron Chenoweth graduated from Culver Stockton University, Kyle Gilbert graduated from Missouri State University, and Garrett Wishall, oldest son of the Wishall family, graduated from Southern Baptist Seminary. Congratulations to these young men on their accomplishments!
PRAYER NET: The Prayer Net is a group of people in the church who have committed to pray for the needs of the body. They receive these prayer requests via weekly emails. If you would like to be a part of the “Prayer-netters”, please reply click reply and let us know, and you will be added to the list.
BETH MOORE STUDY: Starting Thursday, May 27th, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. here at Cornerstone, there will be a women’s small group studying Believing God by Beth Moore. This 11-week study will look at what it means to believe God rather than just believe in Him, and includes a DVD teaching followed by small group discussion. There is a workbook (entitled Believing God) that you will need to purchase that can be found on-line or at local Christian bookstores. If there is enough interest, there is also the possibility of a morning study. If you would like a study that meets in the morning, please call or text Janelle Vignery at 884-4575 or 668-2435 as soon as possible.
FOOD PANTRY: This Friday, May 21st, from 1:45 until 4 or 5 p.m. is Cornerstone’s next opportunity to serve at the Shepherd’s Staff Food Pantry. Last time we had a very encouraging turnout – let’s do that again! If you would like more information, you may contact Doris Friesen at 808-2929.
SEND IN YOUR PICTURES OF DAD: We need your digital pictures of Dad with the kids for our Father’s Day worship service. These can be current or past photos. Please email your favorites to Barb at barb.c.savage@gmail.com.
IT’S BUNCO TIME! This Friday, May 21st at 7 p.m. is another chance to gather at Juanita Blackwell’s home for an evening of Bunco! If you would like to come, please R.S.V.P. to Juanita at 779-4299 or blackwellj@harrisonville.k12.mo.us. This is a great chance to relax and get to know women in the church, so come out and join the fun!
WALK FOR LIFE: Saturday, May 22nd, is the annual Walk for Life to support the Life Choice Center for Women. Anyone can participate in the walk, which involves getting sponsors and then walking the 2-mile course that Saturday. If you are interested, you may contact Suzanne Barnett at 380-7181. A number of our middle school girls are participating in the walk, so if you aren’t available that day but would like to make a pledge to support the Life Choice Center, you may talk with Kelly Schneeberger or Suzanne Barnett and they can direct you to one of the girls.

Just for Laughs
A minister was completing a temperance sermon. With great emphasis he said, “If I had all the beer in the world, I’d take it and pour it into the river.”
With even greater emphasis he said, “And if I had
all the wine in the world, I’d take it and pour it into the river.”
And then finally, shaking his fist in the air, he
Said, “And if I had all the whiskey in the world,
I’d take it and pour it into the river.”
Sermon complete, he sat down.
The song leader stood very cautiously and announced
with a smile, nearly laughing, “For our closing song,
let us sing Hymn #365, ‘Shall We Gather at the River.’”
