Special Announcements
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: Friday, August 6th, is Cornerstone’s turn to work at the Food Pantry. The hours we work are 2:00-5:30 p.m., and you may work all or part of the time as your schedule permits. It involves standing at a table handing food to people as they come by, similar to our Angel Food distribution. This is a great way to serve our community in a tangible way. If you have questions, you may call Doris Friesen at 808-2929.
BAPTISM SERVICE: On Sunday evening, August 15th, we will be having a baptism service at the Haffners’ pond. If you are interested in being baptized, please contact the church office at 380-2422 or office@cornerstonechurch.info.
PRAYER FOR OUR EDUCATION PERSONNEL: If you work in any way that is connected to a school setting, we would like to pray for you as you are starting this new school year. This includes public, Christian, and home school teachers, food preparers, school administrators and office staff, and anyone else who serves in an educational setting. We will be taking some time during the worship service on August 22nd to lift you up in prayer.
NO SUNDAY SCHOOL/BIBLE CLASSES ON AUGUST 22, 29TH, AND SEPTEMBER 5TH: In order to give our teachers a break, on August 22nd and 29th there will be no adult or children’s classes during the 9:30-10:30 a.m. Bible class time. Then, to kick off our new quarter, some of the excellent chefs from our body will treat us to breakfast during the Bible class hour on Sunday, September 5th, and there will be information available at that time about the new classes that will be starting up this fall. Please note: There will also be no kids’ time church on these Sundays.
COMMUNION THIS SUNDAY: This Sunday, August 8th, we will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper during the worship service. Afterwards, there will be men at the doors of the worship center to take a love offering that will be used to help those in our body who have financial needs.
