O Holy Night | Chains Shall He Break

On starlit winter nights, skies midnight blue, millions of sparkling snowflakes drift to the earth and totally transform the landscape. The most humble dwelling becomes a snow castle and the muddiest mile a winter wonderland, wherever the snowflakes land. In the midst of a very unholy time and place, pure holiness and love descended into our world. What happened that night transformed the landscape of every receptive human heart and piece of the planet.
O Holy Night!

"Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother"

You will find yourself fitting into every wonderful thing God wants to provide for his dearly loved child.

Message Notes

Since God loves sinners, and my performance is not what gets me in, what’s the big deal about sin?

“For sin shall no longer be your master because you are not under the law, but under grace." Romans 6:24 (6:11-14, NIV)
"From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That’s what Jesus did. That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don’t give it the time of day. Don’t even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time—remember, you’ve been raised from the dead!—into God’s way of doing things. Sin can’t tell you how to live. After all, you’re not living under that old tyranny any longer. You’re living in the freedom of God." Romans 6:11-14 (THE MESSAGE)

“Sin shall no longer be your master” is:

A test of our claim to be Christians

A promise of victory

An encouragement for hope and strength in the battle

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:1-2, NIV

You will find yourself fitting into every wonderful thing God wants to provide for his dearly loved child.
