God's love & presence
Kaelyn:
"Jesus gave his life for me, so I want to live for Him. I am so thankful for all He's given me. My parents teach me about Jesus, and my Cornerstone family always reach out to make sure I am doing okay. God loves me more than I can imagine, I want to love Him the same."
Kara:
"In 2010, my husband decided He wanted to go on a mission trip with Clear Blue to Haiti. I was truly afraid, but he really wanted to go so I didn't fight him on it. Kaelyn was only 2 years old at the time.
When the earthquake hit while our mission team was there, many lost their lives - it was scary. I didn't know if my husband, David, was okay. During this time of uncertainty, I tried to stay positive and convince myself that he was fine. I had to be there for Kaelyn - I had to be strong.
One night after putting Kaelyn to bed, it really hit me that he may not be coming home. I immediately fell to my knees in tears. I couldn't fathom the idea of being a widow and our daughter losing her Daddy. All I could do was pray. I begged God to hear me. I told Him that I didn't want this. Through tears and struggled breath, I surrendered. I told God that I trusted Him. I felt a presence in the room with me - the Lord. He is always with me. I immediately calmed down and felt comforted.
From that moment, I felt a sense of relief. I knew that God was in control, I just needed to trust Him and pray. I heard from so many at Cornerstone. I was overwhelmed by the love and sincere concern. Even from people I didn't know! I was so appreciative of the kindness and willingness to help. I decided that I needed to be that kind of a person too.
When I received the news that David and our mission team were okay and coming home, I felt so much love for The Lord. He took care of them, and He took care of my family. Now I have a close relationship with Jesus. I trust Him with everything. I'm involved at church and love to serve. I am blessed by serving and can bless others while doing it.
Jesus is my reason for living - He gives me purpose. I am better because of Him. And Cornerstone has truly help make me who I am today. I am so grateful for my Cornerstone Family - God bless you all!"
